A la muerte del rey Jos\u00edas, Joacaz ascendi\u00f3 al trono. Joacaz rein\u00f3 solo tres meses, pero en ese corto tiempo, repiti\u00f3 los actos pecaminosos e idol\u00e1tricos de los reyes desobedientes. Fue destituido por el fara\u00f3n Necao, cuando retorn\u00f3 de pelear con el imperio Asirio, depuso a Joacaz y en su lugar entroniz\u00f3 a Joacim. Cuando reinaba Joacim, el dominio del mundo cambi\u00f3 de los asirios a los babilonios. Nabucodonosor invadi\u00f3 en tres oportunidades Jud\u00e1 el a\u00f1o 605, 597 y 586. Si Joacim hubiera SERVIDO A DIOS, no hubiera SERVIDO A NABUCODONOSOR, rey de Babilonia.<\/p>

El rey Nabucodonosor se menciona casi 90 veces en la Biblia, por lo que es el rey pagano que m\u00e1s se nombra en las Escrituras. Dios elige a este gobernante para hacer cumplir lo que hab\u00eda anunciado por medio de sus profetas, que Jud\u00e1, sufrir\u00eda el destierro de la tierra prometida por su obstinada desobediencia. En los vers\u00edculos 4 y 5 se menciona que el castigo divino fue por causa de la conducta idol\u00e1trica y por derramar sangre inocente durante el reinado de Manas\u00e9s.<\/p>
