El libro fue escrito el siglo IV a. C. Muchos lectores perciben al leer el libro de las Cr\u00f3nicas, que el autor est\u00e1 repitiendo los eventos hist\u00f3ricos narrados en los libros de Samuel y Reyes. El leer nombre tras nombre de personas, muchas de ellas desconocidas, no tan s\u00f3lo parece muy cansador para algunos, sino que tambi\u00e9n innecesaria. Sin embargo, el prop\u00f3sito es dar \u00e9nfasis en David quien fuera el agente del pacto con \u00e9l y toda su descendencia, de quien inclusive, nacer\u00eda el Rey de Reyes y Se\u00f1or de Se\u00f1ores;<\/p><p>2) Preparaci\u00f3n para la adoraci\u00f3n en el futuro templo. Recogi\u00f3 todas las copias de la ley que pudo encontrar, y las hizo transcribir y distribuir. La Palabra pura, as\u00ed multiplicada y puesta en las manos de mucha gente, le comunic\u00f3 un conocimiento de valor inestimable.\u00a0<\/p><p>La fe que ten\u00eda Esdras de que Dios har\u00eda una obra poderosa en favor de su pueblo, le indujo a hablar a Artajerjes de su deseo de volver a Jerusal\u00e9n para despertar inter\u00e9s en el estudio de la Palabra de Dios y ayudar a sus hermanos a reconstruir la santa ciudad.
