Josu\u00e9 tambi\u00e9n es conocido con el nombre de Hoshea&#8217; que significa \u00absalvador\u00bb. Se transliter\u00f3 al castellano como Oseas. Mois\u00e9s le cambi\u00f3 el nombre por el de Yehoshua&#8217;, poniendo como prefijo Jah, la forma abreviada de Jehov\u00e1 (Yahv\u00e9h). Con el cambio de nombre se ampli\u00f3 su significado a \u201csalvaci\u00f3n de
